Yes….you heard me…it’s my 1 year anniversary people!  For what you ask?  Well let’s see…I have been with the love of my life for almost 3 1/2 years, I have lived in Los Angeles for the same amount of time…I just had my 34th birthday last October…hmmm…ok, ok… I’ll tell you.  It is my 1 year anniversary in finding the cure to the various stomach illnesses I had to live with the first 33 years of my  life.  And folks…that is VERY big deal for me and I because I am so happy with myself I wanted to SCREAM IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!! :)

For those of you who often visit my blog you know I am a health FANATIC to say the least.  For those of you who don’t, I have been on (and still am on) a lifelong journey in seeking optimal health.  I had always thought I was what is considered to be a healthy person but as I learned more and more about my body and what “real food” really is, I realized I was living a LIE!  So my quest began.  For as long as I can remember I had chronic stomach issues.  More specifically, I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), a serious case of acid reflux and an extremely sensitive stomach because of all this drama.  I went to all sorts of doctors who put me through upper GI exams and colonoscopies to find…NOTHING!  And for any of you who know what those procedures are….I know you feel my pain.  All they would do is write me a prescription for whatever new pill was coming out..at that time it was Zantac and Nexium.  So was about 10 years ago when I just stopped the insanity!  I decided I need to take matters into my own hands.  Even though these doctors are supposed to know something, and I am sure they do, it’s just when it comes to food and nutrition they don’t know didly squat!

So through much research, gradual evolution of my diet, lots of patience and perseverance I figured it out.  And this past year has been BLISS!  I have it down to a science.  And it’s funny because my brother and father suffer from the same issue (as it’s supposedly “hereditary”).  I was out visiting them just last week and after dinner while everyone was sitting around having their painful acid reflux and doing their routine burping -I wasn’t!  I used to join them in that ritual EVERY day after EVERY meal… and no more!  It feels like it was years ago already that I had these chronic issues but my new life is SO MUCH better!

I write this post for those of you who maybe suffering from the same thing and have tried the doctors and you are STILL left with no answers.  It’s most likely food related my friends. It’s ALL about our diet! In most cases, the right food can cure you, you just need to be ready to address it and “be all in.”  It can be a trying process as it totally is trial and error but once you get it down it becomes routine and your quality of life will have completely changed!  I am living proof!  So Happy Anniversary to myself! :)

Now,  if I was to tell you how and where to start this process then this blog post would turn into a book but I would LOVE to help anyone and everyone who wants help.  It would be my pleasure!  If you’re really committed, you won’t have to spend 10 years trying to find the answers..I think that sounds like a much better deal!

Your in True Health and Happiness,

Eleni

Interesting stuff, eleni. I know IBS is “hereditary”… or at least we’re told. Of course, lifestyle and eating habits are also “hereditary”, that is – they are assimilated from our conditioning. I think you’ve hit the answer, that is what you eat. People often ask me “how do I know what to eat”? Answer: You don’t but your body does. So listen to your body #1. You get enormous feedback that is far more reliable than techno-diagnostics. Essentially, when you go shopping, anything in a wrapper takes you out of sync with your body. So no boxes, cans, plastic bags etc. That leaves you primarily with fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and the like. And guess what… those are the things your body needs. Those are the foods with rapid digestive transit time which means… less secretion of caustic and destructive digestive fluids. These basic eating rules pertain to ALL maladies, IBS being the most obvious, but also conditions related to acidosis (primarily resulting from processed foods with low alkalinity), and almost every degenerative disease is related to acidosis.
So, Eleni, real good stuff… great anecdotal confirmation of the existing research. Thanks, I’ll look for more!

Hey Eleni!

Health and wellness is a huge passion and interest of
my family’s. We have seen a significant shift in our
quality of life with dietary shifts and interventions.

We eat whole foods and organic foods. Specialized
enhanced water. And many other cutting edge
supplements.

I’m all about reversing the aging process… besides
aging is all about how old you feel not what your
birthday says.

Love ya,
Kary

Hi Eleni,
We are definitely on the same path – wanting to achieve optimal health for ourselves and share that with others. I do my best to eat organic, raw foods and am passionate about superfoods! It’s great to read your post and be part of a like-minded tribe. Thanks so much for sharing your journey :)

Hey Eleni!

I have a friend with chronic stomach issues as well; Chron’s Disease. Quite different but the same in that I truly believe when we nourish ourselves with the proper nutrition, not just on a weekly or monthly basis, but a DAILY basis we will surely see a difference in the way our bodies recognize us treating it well.

My friend Martin is doing well but he IS on very costly meds to say the least. It really is his choice to eat healthier. With that said, “We are what we eat.” Nuff said??

In other words…I totally am with you! Eat clean and your body will appreciate you.

Of course there are some things that nutrition alone will not “cure”. But it’s definitely
the right course to take to lead you to where you want to get…

AND…Congratulations on your one year anniversary!

I am really, really happy for you.

Smiles from Guam,
